If you go to Wikepedia to look up the history of Wedding Albums and this is what you find: "A photographic album, or photo album, is a collection of a series of photographs, generally in a book. Some albums have compartments which the photos may be slipped in to; others albums have heavy paper with sticky substance and on top, a piece of large plastic in which photos can be put between. Older style albums often were simply books of heavy paper which photos could be glued to or attached to with adhesive corners, or pages."

]]> Canvas Art

There are two different ways to have canvas art created from your wedding images. One way is to print on canvas material then mount that to masonite or other rigid surface. This method is used when the finished artwork is destined for framing. The canvas is textured and sprayed for richness and protection so that no glass is necessary saving money and having less weight to hang.

Another system is a more modern look called a museum gallery wrap. The image is printed on canvas with edges repeated so when the canvas is wrapped around the stretcher bars the image appears continuous without using any of the original image. This allows the image to be finished and needs hang no frame to hang.

]]> 89 Year Old Hands

These hands were photographed a couple days after my dad passed away. They belong to Genevieve Munson a next door neighbor who used to have Thursday night dinner with my dad. I asked to make her portrait and zoomed in on her hands holding the bible. It's an extremely powerful image as evidenced by  awards it has earned and the reaction by almost all who see it. In honor of my father's memory all proceeds from sales of this image are being  donated to Meals on Wheels a charity he supported for 30 years. He was even driving and delivering meals at age 86 the year before he died. I'll miss him but look forward to this image helping to keep his memory alive.
